margaux-1935
Margaux 1934

1934 Château Margaux is a highly celebrated, historic pre-World War II vintage that represents the first truly excellent, large-scale harvest for Bordeaux after a string of difficult years in the early 1930s. The Blend & Winemaking The 1934 Grand Vin is a classic Left Bank assembly composed of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Notably, this was one of the early decades featuring guaranteed estate-bottling. The château adopted this practice in 1924 to protect international buyers from counterfeits and guarantee authenticity. Historical Significance & Ownership The year 1934 marked a major operational turning point for the estate. It was the exact year the wealthy Ginestet family bought their first major portion of Château Margaux. They eventually purchased the remaining shares in 1950 to assume sole ownership, funding critical vineyard restructurings that restored the estate's legendary status. Drink Now: Now over 90 years old, this wine has long since reached its ultimate peak of maturity. While pristine, perfectly cellared bottles and large-format magnums still drink beautifully.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0630/0883/3579/files/margaux_12774f46-43f9-4925-97c9-694dd94c9211.webp?v=1788122177
